FULFILLING A DREAM
Filippo Sindoni’s favorite comic was called “Pirulín,” an Italian comic from the 1940s. This represented something special to him, so as he began crafting his confections, he decided to name them “Pirulín”.
1951
SINDONI GROUP WAS BORN
In the early 1950s, brothers Giuseppe and Filippo Sindoni (originally from Sicily, Italy), created Grupo Sindoni in the city of Maracay, Venezuela.
1975
A TRADITIONAL ITALIAN RECIPE
Pirulín follows a secret Sindoni family recipe that takes great pride in its artisanal traditions. Since the launch of Pirulín, the product has expanded across the globe, currently available in over 20 countries. In North America, the product goes by the name Pirucream.
2016
OUR FIRST FROZEN PARTNERSHIP
McDonald's launched a Pirulín Chocolate Hazelnut McFlurry® in several Latin American countries. The first of which was Venezuela where the McFlurry® became a trending topic nationwide. Due to the incredible reception the collaboration received, McDonald's classified it as a global success story, and duplicated the initiative in Colombia, Panama and several countries in the Caribbean.
2018
CONTINUED FROZEN PARTNERSHIPS
After fully evaluating the success of the Pirulín Chocolate Hazelnut McFlurry®, McDonald’s decided to try a second flavor combination. The result was a Pirulín Coconut dessert portfolio which is now available in over 15 countries.
2019
MULTISERVE FROZEN PARTNERSHIP
After the overwhelmingly positive reception of our product
combined with ice cream via McDonald’s, we launched a delicious family-sized Pirulín ice cream in Venezuela.
2020
PREMIUM LIQUOR PARTNERSHIP
After being given the opportunity to develop a collaboration with a premium liquor brand, we knew the opportunity was too delicious to pass up. Pirulín Chocolate Hazelnut was combined Arakú, a rum and coffee liquor, resulting in an irresistible adult beverage.
2022
BRAND REFRESH
We refined our packaging to reinforce the brand's Italian origins, its artisanal craft, and its ultra-premium ingredients. But the most important element of all? The crunchiness of thin rolled wafers and the creamy richness of the fillings.
